Our background

Keep Christmas Cheap is the brainchild of Debs Williams, the founder and managing director of debbidoo Ltd, a marketing services provider based just outside Caernarfon in North Wales.  You can find out more about debbidoo by visiting our corporate website, www.debbidoo.com.

Our inspiration

The inspiration for Keep Christmas Cheap came about during the course of a conversation between Debs and one of her clients, when they were discussing the need for the client to increase marketing activity in the run-up to Christmas 2008.

With the current global economic difficulties, the two agreed that Christmas 2008 could be a difficult one, as consumers are being more careful with their money and businesses are afraid to spend on marketing, even though they know that without increased marketing activity they risk failing to get their products in front of their target audiences.

It’s a Catch 22 situation, it was agreed, and one that could be helped by enabling businesses to advertise cheaply to a ready-made audience of consumers that would be looking for ways to reduce their Christmas spending.

Our challenge

Getting a slow economy moving when banks and governments have so far struggled to do so is a massive challenge.  We don’t know if we’ll be successful, but we’ve got enough fighting spirit in us to give it a try… vive la Christmas revolution!

If Keep Christmas Cheap is going to work, we’ll need you – our visitors, advertisers and the media – to keep coming back, sharing your tips, buying our ridiculously cheap advertising and supporting our campaign in any way you can. If you’d like to help spread the word, please pop over to our support our campaign page for ideas.

Our mission

Keep Christmas Cheap is both a campaign and a community; we aim to help consumers find and share ideas for keeping costs down at Christmas, and to help businesses advertise their products and services on a smaller marketing budget.

We hope that consumers will support each other in the Keep Christmas Cheap community by submitting their own tips for enjoying a cheaper Christmas, and that our advertisers will enjoy a good return on investment from their Christmas advertising budget.
